The .NET API will work with any .NET language. It has the same functionality as our Commodity DataServer Java API. The Commodity DataServer .NET API download is available from my.lim.com. (If you do not have a my.lim.com account, please contact Morningstar Client Support.)

The Microsoft Visual Basic 6 Runtime support is EOL, March 2008. The Morningstar Visual Basic API has dependency on this runtime. Customers are encouraged to plan for this EOL. For more information please see the Product Family Life-Cycle Guidelines for Visual Basic 6.0.

• Customers that have developed VB6 applications using the Commodity DataServer Visual Basic (VB) API could port their applications to our Commodity DataServer .NET API as VB .NET or C# .NET applications.
   
• Customers that used the Commodity DataServer Visual Basic (VB) API in conjunction with Excel's Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) should move to the API exposed by the Commodity DataServer Excel Add-in. For more information, see the chapter "API Calls within Morningstar Client Products" in the Commodity DataServer Data and Development Guide.

  Customers also have the option to use Commodity ChartsExcel's automatic refresh functionality to pull data into an Excel worksheet. For more information, see the chapter "Refreshing Commodity ChartsExcel Queries" in the Commodity Charts User Guide.
