The World Steel Association (worldsteel) is one of the largest and most dynamic industry associations in the world. worldsteel is a non-profit organisation with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium and a second office in Beijing,China, that opened in April 2006. worldsteel represents approximately 180 steel producers (including 19 of the world's 20 largest steel companies), national and regional steel industry associations, and steel research institutes. worldsteel members produce around 85% of the world's steel. worldsteel acts as the focal point for the steel industry, providing global leadership on all major strategic issues affecting the industry, particularly focusing on economic, environmental and social sustainability.
